Time really flies, now I had already retired. Teaching career is a tough nut to crack. Teachers have to feature out their duties smartly in order to overcome obstacles encountered.

When you are visiting Korean traditional house in Seoul, you will see many lanterns hanging around the courtyard. These lanterns are red and blue in color.
The name of the red-blue lantern is cheongsachorong. It was displayed during festivals and reception of distinguished guests in the old times. The frame of cheongsachorong is made of iron or wood. The red color of the lampshade represents sky and the blue color symbolizes earth. Between red and blue means mankind.
My wife and I took an Air Asia flight to Seoul South Korea during February. This night scene photo with big red moon was taken at Cheonggyecheon which is a popular tourist attraction in Seoul.
It happened that there was a round red moon in the night sky while we were strolling at Cheonggyecheon. Without any hesitation, I kept on pressing the shutter of my camera. The photos taken were not ideal because my photography technique is not so good.

Malaysia Minister of Health Liow Tiong Lai disclosed to media recently, the preservative levels of dried pork products of Wo Lai Ye (Kiew Brothers) was too high. Ministry of Health ordered the products to be pulled off shelves nationwide immediately.

There are many earthen jars in the courtyard of traditional houses in Seoul Namsangol Hanok Village. These jars are for storing kimchi which is the favorite dish for Koreans.
Kimchi must be preserved at appropriate temperature in order to maintain its freshness and delicious taste. In the old times, kimchi had to be kept in different locations during different seasons. During warm summer, kimchi was placed in well or stream. On the other hand it was buried under ground during chilly winter.
Chinese used to stick spring couplets on doors during Chinese New Year in the old times. It turned out that Korean also liked to do so.
These two photos were taken in Seoul Namsangol Hanok village. The doors of the traditional house were pasted with couplets. The first couplet means auspicious New Year and the second couplet is continuous joyous.

There are pretty many antiquity farming tools well preserved in Namsangol Hanok Village. This hand operated spinning machine is one of the tools. Is it same as the old times spinning machine in your country?
This is an arbor which is built in Namsangol Hanok Village. You should be familiar with this arbor if you are from farm village. Perhaps the structures of the arbors are not alike.
Korean farmers rest and take lunch at the arbor at noon. The harvested crops are placed at the arbor and later transfer to the collection center.
There was a paper craft exhibition when I was visiting Seoul Namsangol Hanok Village. The exhibition was held in the exhibition hall in Namsangol Hanok Village.
The duration of the exhibition was 27 days. It was from February 2 to February 28.
Tuho game was originated from China. This traditional game was very prevalent in palace and officer residences during ancient time.

A variety of cultural shows are available during weekends and festivals. These presentations include Pansori, folk songs, Mask Dance and Nongak Dance.
Located beside a small pond in Seoul Namsangol Hanok Village, Cheonugak is an elegant Korean traditional pavilion.
From the main entrance of Hanok Village walk for a few steps, the unique Korean Cheonugak is on your left. Watching the crystal clear spring and listening to the patter of rain in Cheonugak is truly poetic.
During my visit to Hanok Village, the water surface of the small pond still frozen. The weather is fine at that time. Therefore I missed the crystal clear spring and the tapping sound of rain.
There are five quaint traditional buildings in Seoul Namsangol Hanok Village.
1. Jaesil of Yun Taekyong in Jegidong
2. House of Queen Yun Sunjeonghyo in Ogindong
3. House of Dophyeonsu Lee Seugup in Samgakdong
4. House of Bumadowi Park Yonghyo in Gwanhundong
5. House of Owijang Kim Chunyoung in Samcheongdong
These houses were shifted and restored in Namsangol Hanok Village. Due to the shabby condition, the residence of Yun family was rebuilt in Namsangol Hanok Village.
Located at Pildong area on northern side of Namsan in Seoul, Namsangol Hanok Village retained the original ambience of Korean traditional courtyard.
Namsangol Hanok Village originally was a summer resort during Joseon Dynasty. South Korean government transformed the venue into an ancient village for Seoul residences and foreign tourists to visit.
Namsangol Hanok Village closes on every Tuesday and admission is free. The opening hours: April to October is from 9 am to 9 pm. November to March is from 9 am to 8 pm.
