Malaysia Needs Change In 2011

Malaysia Needs Change
BN had ruled Malaysia for more than 50 years. How was the performance of the BN government? Malaysians indeed know the answer. 308 political tsunami is truly good evidence.

Civilians know the trick of politicians. Anyhow, as long as people are happy and harmonious then that's just fine. But under the rule of BN, the financial deficit increased tremendously. Most of the people live in misery. Especially people from low income groups are suffering the most. People's complaints are soaring as the tsunami waves.

I am confident that Malaysian voters will reject 2011 as inflation year. Therefore, Malaysia needs a change in 2011.

Gorgeous Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas
This was a summer Christmas parade in in Perth, Western Australia. I was there with my family on holiday. It's coincident that I had the opportunity to watch the excellent summer Christmas parade.

Merry Christmas
If you are in Malacca during this festive season, you should drop by Portuguese Settlement.

Portuguese Settlement is a fishing village in the old time but now it's a tourist attraction. Most of the residents here are descendants of Portuguese. They celebrate Christmas every year by decorating their houses with gorgeous light.

Malacca DAP 44th Anniversary Dinner

Karpal Singh
Malacca DAP 44th Anniversary Dinner was held on December 16 at Pay Fong School Hall, Malacca.

MP of Bukit Gelugor and DAP national chairman Karpal Singh was one of the honored speakers. In his speech, he mentioned that he had been to Malacca in the 1980s. His visit was connecting with the Bukit Cina issue at that time.

Karpal Singh also shared his humor with Malacca DAP supporters. He revealed that he had advised Anwar Ibrahim not to accept Zaid Ibrahim as member of PKR. Anwar Ibrahim didn't listen to him and it ended up Zaid Ibrahim was a political hopper.

Nurul Izzah
The newly elected vice president of PKR and MP of Lembah Pantai Nurul Izzah criticized BN government as a "hu li hu tu" government. Actually "hu li hu tu" is a Chinese phrase which means "silly" or "muddle". It can also translated as "useless" or "good for nothing".

Khalid Samad
MP of Shah Alam from PAS Khalid Samad threw out a question if the audiences are boring to his speech. He said so because the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat Pandikar Amin Mulia always orders him to stop his inquiry. This indicates that Khalid Samad never slept at Dewan Rakyat.

Wong Ho Leng
Another DAP leader who had delivered speech was Wong Ho Leng. He is MP of Sibu and chairman of Sarawak DAP.

Wong Ho Leng was proud of his victory for the Sibu by-election on May 16 this year. Sibu voters rejected BN although Prime Minister of Malaysia promised to sign a cheque of 5 million to resolve flood problem in Rejang Park if BN won.

Will PKR take over Putrajaya? Well, it's truly an interesting question. All Malaysian can't wait to know the outcome and look forward for the coming 13th general election.

Democracy is freedom of speech

Freedom of speech
Aung San Suu Kyi devoted herself entirely to liberate Myanmar. She was under house arrest for many years by the Myanmar Military government. She had been freed recently. After release, her first speech was on "Democracy is freedom of speech".

Oh, I see! Democracy is freedom of speech. BN government proclaimed Malaysia as a democratic country. Is Malaysian free to deliver speech? It's truly interesting.

Since democracy is freedom of speech, why there are so many restriction for people to voice their opinion?

Malacca Sungai Rambai Pas Dinner

Malacca Sungai Rambai Pas Dinner
Malacca Sungai Rambai Pas Dinner was held on November 26 at Markas Pas Sungai Rambai, Malacca.

Haji Mohamad Sabu
Pas National Committee Member Haji Mohamad Sabu was one of the speakers during the dinner. I was really impressed with his talent of delivering speech.

According to Haji Mohamad Sabu, Malaysia political scenario is still in primitive age. In developed countries, political party leaders no need to campaign by giving speeches to the public. They announce their party policies through the media. PR leaders have to talk to the people all over Malaysia because the media has been monopolized by BN.

Haji Mohamad Sabu urged Malacca Malays to reject BN and support PR in order to achieve reformation.

Where Has Our Hard-Earned Money Gone ?

Where Has Our Hard-Earned Money Gone
Malacca DAP had conducted a forum regarding 2011 financial budget on 27 October. The title of the forum was "Where Has Our Hard-Earned Money Gone?"

Liew Chin Tong
MP of Penang Bukit Bendera Liew Chin Tong was one of the honored speakers. He spared no effort to condemn BN government. The forum audiences were enjoying themselves and responding with thunderous applause.

Liew Chin Tong expressed that in order to manage national finance properly, Ministry of Prime Minister and Ministry of Finance must be separated. Malaysia Prime Minister and Minister of Finance shouldn't be the identical person. Dr Mahathir started to hold the posts of Prime Minister and Minister of Finance since he was in power.

The serious financial deficit obviously revealed the pros and cons of Prime Minister concurrently in charge of Finance Ministry.

Jeff Ooi
MP of Penang Jelutong Jeff Ooi began his speech by making fun of Malacca people as citizens of developed state.

He disclosed that after former Menteri Besar of Selangor Mohamed Khir Toyo declared Selangor as a developed state on 27 August 2005, Selangor state changed government during 308 political tsunami. Now, Malacca Chief Minister Mohamad Ali Rustam also proclaimed Malacca as developed state. Well, will PR take over Malacca in the 13th general election, it's truly interesting.

After attending the financial budget forum, I still don't know where have Malaysian hard-earned money gone. Although I have no ideal whereabouts the money but I know what to do in the coming general election.

Malacca Tai Chong Ice Cafe

Malacca Tai Chong Ice Cafe
Among the ice cafes in Malacca, Tai Chong Ice Cafe is my favourite. It's because the guests are treated warmly and drinks are tasty.

Malacca Tai Chong Ice Cafe
Tai Chong ice cafe is located at Bunga Raya Road. Malacca Little India and Malacca Heritage Site are within walking distance.

Ice Kacang
Rarely go to the same ice cafe. After enjoying the ice kacang of Tai Chong Ice Cafe, I repeatedly drop in Tai Chong Ice Cafe. The ice kacang with coconut milk and Gula Malacca is truly fascinating.

Malacca Tai Chong Ice Cafe
Cendol and rojak of Tai Chong Ice cafe are delicious too. You can have a cup of coffee or tea in case you dislike cold drinks.

Sprite and Fanta
I used to drink Sprite and Fanta during my teen age. These bottle drinks are not for sale. They are kept for display.

Malacca Tai Chong Ice Cafe
The ancient design counter is still preserved, as if back to the 20th century.

Malacca DAP Banquet

Tony Pua
Malacca DAP banquet was held on October 11 in Pay Fong School Hall, Malacca.

MP of Petaling Jaya Utara Tony Pua was one of the speakers on that night. He unveiled the Malaysia financial scandals to the people of Malacca including PKFZ scandal which involved billions RM of public money.

Lim Guan Eng
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was one of the speakers of Malacca DAP banquet. He narrated on the excellent performance of the Penang PR Government. In addition, he also criticized BN which has lost the support of the people. The audience gave thunderous applause to Lim Guan Eng. Smile reflected in his face, as if PR already migrated to Putra Jaya.

Teo Nie Ching
Listening to MP of Serdang Teo Nie Ching giving speech, reminded me of my teaching life.

Teo Nie Ching revealed that she was invited to the police station after she had become Utusan cover star. According to Teo Nie Ching, Royal Malaysia Police just chatted with her friendly. Luckily she didn't leave a note stating "Sorry, I am very tired. Good-bye". Otherwise, Serdang has to hold by-election. I was also not able to shake hands with her.

Goh Leong San
Malacca DAP Chairman Goh Leong San teased Malacca state as flooding and prioritize pocket state. He didn't explained in detail about the meaning of the prioritize pocket state but the flooding problems which faced by residents of Malacca city is truly critical.

Malacca city which had been listed as the World Heritage by UNESCO always hits by flood. Malacca Chief Minister Ali Rustam should apply the flood situation in Malacca city to be listed in the Guinness record.

A Night With DAP Bentayan

Nga Kor Ming
Johor DAP Dinner was held on October 3 in SKT Banquet Hall, Sungai Abong, Muar. It's fortunate enough to listen to the renowned PR leaders giving speech.

Perak DAP Secretary General Nga Kor Ming was one of the speakers on that night. The extraordinary opinion of the handsome Nga Kor Ming was truly amazing. The guests in the SKT Banquet Hall responded to his sharp words with thunderous applause.

Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin
Menteri Besar of Perak PR Government Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin was another speaker of the Johor DAP Dinner. More than 2 thousand audiences keep on cheering while he delivering speech. This apparently revealed that Chinese fully support PAS.

Chua Jui Meng
The emergence of MCA former vice-president Chua Jui Meng indicated the decline of MCA. Currently, Chua Jui Meng has been designated as the Chief of Johor PKR. He will play an importance role in the 13th general election.

Dap Bentayan
I really know nothing about Malaysia Politics. After attending Johor DAP Dinner, I only then realize the democracy of Malaysia.

Malacca Bunga Raya Lane Fried Oysters

Bunga Raya Food Court
There is a renowned fried oyster stall in Malacca. It's located at the Bunga Raya Lane Food Court along Jalan Bunga Raya.

Fried Oysters
As you can see from the above photo, the chef is a young man. I used to cycle to the fried oyster stall when I was a kid. The chef was an old man at that time. The stall had already passed on for several generations.

The price of the fried oysters was RM1 per pack in the 60s. Now, per pack of the fried oysters is RM6. The customers keep on increasing. It reveals that the fried oysters are truly delicious.

Fried Oysters
Remember to savour the cuisine when it's just fried. Otherwise the taste won't be so nice. The ingredients of the fried oysters include eggs, flour, fresh oysters and fragrant celery.

The excellent culinary skill of the chef will make you licking your fingers and return to see him again.

Malacca Guimenguan (Gate Of Hell)

Malacca Guimenguan
Guimenguan (Lorong Jambatan) is an alley in Malacca. In Chinese, Guimenguan means Gate of Hell. It's a shortcut from Jalan Bunga Raya to Jalan Kampung Pantai. Not all Malacca people know that this short and narrow alley is Guimenguan.

Malacca Guimenguan
Although Guimenguan had experienced the vicissitudes, there are a few stores still operating. This is a granny supplies store. Cake molds and lacquered bamboo baskets are hanged in front of the store. Many age-old goods are sold here.

Malacca Lorong Jambatan
New Wah Nam is another store in Guimenguan. It specializes in glass framing, cutting coloured glass and designing glass shop sign.

Malacca Jambatan Kampung Jawa
The above photo is Jambatan Kampung Jawa which links Jalan Jawa and Guimenguan. If you are going to Jalan Kampung Pantai from Jalan Bunga Raya, you have to turn into Jalan Jawa and cross Jambatan Kampung Jawa.

In the old times, the river bank nearby Jalan Kampung Pantai was a busy pier. The immigrants from China mostly were settled there. They went over to Jalan Jawa to enjoy themselves during their leisure time.

Malacca Jalan Jawa
At that time, there were many brothels, opium dens and gambling outlets along Jalan Jawa. Those drug addicts, disappointed gamblers and patients suffering from venereal disease committed suicide by jumping into Malacca River from Jambatan Kampung Jawa. That's why the bridge is also known as "Nai He Qiao" which means "The Entrance to Hell".

In July of Lunar calendar (Month of Ghost), dropped by Malacca Guimenguan to look back the history of Malacca.

Malaysia RFM988 "Say Hi To Malaysia" Stranded

Jamaluddin Ibrahim
A few days ago, a great number of visitors flocked to my blog.

After understanding the situation, I realized that their visiting were related to the renowned political commentator Jamaluddin Ibrahim. They were seeking Jamaluddin Ibrahim's information through Google, Yahoo and Microsoft search engines. Coincidentally I had written an article relating to Jamaluddin Ibrahim.

I was truly amazed why so many people eager to find the information of Jamaluddin Ibrahim. So I did a Google search and found out that RFM988 program "Say Hi To Malaysia" was in trouble. Jamaluddin Ibrahim was one of the hosts of that program.

According to the China Press, Jamaluddin Ibrahim and his counterparts were ordered to close their microphone and seal their lips. Furthermore, RFM988 chief executive officer Wong Lai Ngo and senior program manager Chen Jia Rong had also been axed.

"Say Hi To Malaysia" began broadcasting on May 4, 2009. The program was on air from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 10 am. It's pretty popular among the Chinese community especially the younger generation.

If the authorities keep on ignoring the public opinion, it will inevitably lead to the loss of votes. Why be so silly?

Malaysia Dap Excellent Leader, Teng Chang Khim

Teng Chang Khim
"OMG! Real culprit is freed!"

This was the short massage tweeted by the Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly Teng Chang Khim on Twitter. This controversial tweet had enraged the Dap Disciplinary Committee. It would cause disruption in Dap if this incident not solve wisely.

Teng Chang Khim had claimed that he would rather to be sacked in order to defend his dignity. His strong stance is eminently respectable.

Teng Chang Khim is the first Chinese Malaysian State Legislative Assembly Speaker and four term Selangor State Legislative Assembly member. He is fluent in Malay, English and Mandarin. Besides that he is also articulate and truly popular among Malaysian. Undoubtedly he is an elite leader in Malaysia.

When it comes to experience in political arena, obviously there are rarely young Dap leaders as good as Teng Chang Khim. In case Dap couldn't accept Teng Chang Khim, it will finally disappear in Malaysia.
