Walnut sponge cake is Korean style moon cake. This means that Korean also celebrate Mid Autumn Festival. In addition to that they eat moon cake too.

Walnut sponge cake is baked and sold on-the-spot. It's veritable sold as a hot cake. The sponge cake is named as walnut sponge cake because the size and shape of the sponge cake is same as a walnut.

Many of the Korean pastries use red bean paste as stuffing. Walnut sponge cake is no exception. Besides red bean paste, the walnut sponge cake stuffing includes chestnuts and groundnuts.
